
The Bagakhangai District Palace of Culture was established in 1997 under the name “Youth Cultural Center.” Its first director was Ts. Densmaa, who also served as the head of the Social Development Department of the District Governor’s Office. In 2001, with investments from the Ulaanbaatar city administration, the building underwent major renovations, making it fully operational. On December 16, 2001, J. Bayarbaatar was appointed as the director by the District Governor’s Order and led the organization with a small staff consisting of a director, an event organizer, a cleaner, and a security guard. Starting in January 2006, P. Nyamjav was appointed as the director. Under Order No. 83 of the Minister of Education, Culture, and Science and Order No. 16 of the Head of the Capital City Culture and Arts Department, the staff expanded to 16 positions, including: • Director • Cultural Manager • Event Coordinator • Music Teacher • Singing Teacher • Traditional Long Song Teacher • Morin Khuur (Horsehead Fiddle) Teacher • Dance Teacher • Film and Technical Staff • Librarian & Information Officer • Archivist • Accountant & Cashier • Electrician & Plumber • Stage Technician • Cleaner The institution serves approximately 3,500 residents from the 1st and 2nd khoroos (subdistricts) of Bagakhangai District, providing cultural, artistic, and recreational services tailored to different age groups. Its mission is to educate, nurture talent, and promote cultural engagement.
